Artist’s Bio
Cherry Sweig
“ Art has a unique way of speaking to the soul.  There’s something special about the way an artist’s touch on a canvas can stir an emotion or awaken a cherished memory.   Perhaps it’s a response to the color, the style or the subject matter.   It changes the way we look at life or where we dwell.                                                                                                   When I hear that my art has made a difference in someone’s home or helped to save an endangered species,   I know I have achieved my ultimate design.”

“Look who came to my art show 30 years The Los Angeles Zoo...  the wonderful Ms Betty White”

Exhibit Policy

My artworks are ideal for exhibitions at museums, galleries, restaurants and special theme events such as: travel, cultural and nature venues.    Personal statements accompany each piece explaining the process behind the art along with museum-quality Artist bio displays.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the institution or event.  Artist will set up and take down the art.

Please contact me for a written proposal.

Custom Orders and Commissions are the best way for me to create a work of art that is exactly what you have envisioned.  It’s a unique process where I spend as much time planning as painting.  The process is also very exciting and I can post a special ‘how it was created’ page here .

Each project is estimated individually with some basic guidelines: size, image, technique and due date.  Please contact me for more information and I can submit a written estimate.

My studio is in California... In fact, it is also wherever I set up my easel for plein air painting!

Ever since the first time I drew a brush over a canvas,  I knew it would also draw my direction as an artist.  It’s amazing how it simply came to me.  And now, after careers in Graphic Design, Sega Video Games and the Japanese art of Gyotaku , my art has come full circle.

Art can warm even a chilled and sunless soul to an exalted spiritual experience. Through art, we occasionally receive-indistinctly, briefly- revelations the likes of which cannot be achieved by rational thought. It is like a small mirror of legend, you look into it but instead of yourself, you glimpse for a moment, the inaccessible, a realm forever beyond reach. And your soul begins to ache.
